Emily + Jonny’s Basin Harbor Wedding included some of my favorite things- a garden wedding nestled on Lake Champlain. Fireworks, Vermont Creemees (yum!) and loads of love.

Emily and Jonny’s ceremony was incredibly touching- not only did their best friend (who also officiated the wedding) give a thoughtful speech, but the couple wrote their own vows. In addition, several of their friends shared readings, including an amusing collection of marriage advice they had requested guests write on their RSVP cards. It was truly unique and I might have gotten just a touch teary eyed!

After the ceremony, I love that the couple ‘sailed’ off for a few private moments together.  It is so important the newlyweds take a few stolen moments during the day to soak each other in! Plus, it makes for a great photo opp!

The outdoor wedding reception was held on the venue’s main lawn beneath a sailcloth tent (another one of my favs).  Emily and Jonny surprised their guests with two choreographed dances—the first to the tune of “Coming Home” by Leon Bridges. They followed it with an upbeat swing dance to “Sh-Boom,” by the Crew Cuts. It was a blast! After Emily’s quick change, it was back to the dance floor for an amazing night! The surprise firework show over the harbor was a treat for the guests and newlyweds alike.

After the sparkler exit, the couple made a pitstop for Creemees before heading out to the after party at Basin Harbor’s local bar, The Red Mill!
