When I first came up the stairs and saw Bridgid’s dress perfectly placed on the vintage mannequin, it took my breathe away. And then I noticed the absolute care that every single detail had been placed in making the getting-ready room so classically timeless & beautiful. There was no clutter, only items that had sentimental value and told the story of her life from growing up {the dollhouse that her great-grandfather had built was in the room, too}, to the family momentos {framed wedding images of her parents}, to special gifts….It was all just an absolute dream for me to work in!
A few tips for bride’s that can learn from Bridgid:
1}. Have a bridesmaid tidy up the room. Make the Bed. Double check that all plastic bag and clutter are out of the room {or stuffed into a corner if necessary}.
2}. Have all the items out before the photographer gets there, and let us know which items are of the utmost importance. Designate a bridesmaid to inform us which items are key.
3}. The wedding invitation: have it in here and we can incorporate it into the photos.
4}. Bring little trinkets and mementoes that YOU would want to see documented from home….Especially if you are not getting ready at home…This can turn a boring hotel room into a special, memorable, and more photogenic place. Something as simple as a framed photo of your grandparents on their wedding day, a special bottle of perfume, or a couple special books can make all the difference.
5}. If you have a choice between 2 rooms, choose the one with the prettiest light!
