Last week I had 4 glorious days in the San Francisco sun…one of the many highlights of my trip was a morning at Flora Grubb Gardens….vintage bicycles hanging from the ceiling, old vehicles turned into art-with-nature, a ginormous succulent wall…..and palm trees, explosions of color….my mind was on overload. I even got to build little aeriums for my sister & I {they travelled back safely in my camera bag}….
This was my first trip to the West Coast {and guaranteed it will not be the last}…and I was horrified when I had the MOST delicious, creamy, dreamy latte in my entire life. It was so bitter-sweet, as I knew I could never, ever have a latte as good on the East Coast…..depressing…. The little Ritual Coffee Bar nestled in this garden shop nearly brought me to tears. {I’m only slightly exaggerating here…I can feel taste it as I’m typing this!}
San Francisco has been on my “bucket list” for over a decade….I kept putting it off with a zillion excuses {I, ahem, hardly ever take a vacation- never mind a SOLO vacation…} I was able to justify this trip in my mind because I was able to do some work while I was there too….However, I have fallen deeply in love with SF…the stores, the cuisine, the coffee {ohhhhhh, the coffee}, the culture, the hills, the views…and the sunshiny warmth didn’t hurt either!
I wish I had met you you were at the store. I relocated from New Hampshire 5 years ago. I now work as a garden designer at Flora Grubb Gardens and it is an amazing place for sure. Next you come for a visit let me know…I will make sure you get to meet Flora!
Thanks for a lovely post! Patrick
Oh this is just lovely (not that I don’t think that of almost everything you put out for us to see), but this is so lovely in a completely *different* way! (yet still so “Meg”) 😉
