“There are many ways to enlarge your child’s world. Love of books is best of all.” Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis

Marcus- our big Kindergartener, has been reading like a champ…and we are all so proud of him! Especially, Hank – who hangs onto every word, move, action figure, book, food, or clothes that his brother does or likes. Our nighttime routine here is a sacred time for me….I prep dinner while listening to NPR while the boys have fun with Daddy…We eat dinner as a family at the table, then we have some down time for homework or games & get ready for bed….Hank goes to bed first {they have bunk beds as you can see above….so it’s crucial that he be asleep before Marcus – otherwise it’s like a late-night party in there!} I used to read to Hank first- but now, Marcus likes to help read him a story & says his goodnights…Then I get to read to Hank {usually anything with bears, Mickey Mouse, or mice}….Aftewards, I snuggle with Marcus on my bed & we read together {lately pulling from our Easter & Spring collection and The Indian in the Cupboard}. After that, I unplug. I used to head right to my office to tackle my never-ending-task-list…But, I’ve been growing more and am unplugging more and more often…Plus, I have a stack of books on my night-stand for me that I’m starting to tackle! {Currently reading  Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald by Therese Anne Fowler &  Rachel Macy Stafford’s Hands Free Mama}. I’m so incredibly happy that my boys love books as much as we do {we went to so many bookstores on our honeymoon!}.
