Marie & Will’s winter wedding in Vermont was so sweet and beautiful. It is no secret that I LOVE winter weddings, and between the black and white decor and the snow outside, this day was simply perfect.
I have done a ton of incredible weddings at the Woodstock Inn & Resort, and it never disappoints. I love it in all seasons, but with my love of winter weddings, there’s just something so special about this place covered in snow. Marie & Will’s decor was black and white, featuring black ribbon bows on the invitations and at every place setting. My personal favorite was their black & white checkered dance floor {we had one at our wedding too!}. The baby’s breath floral installation by Birds of a Flower was perfect for this winter wedding. I loved it all!
As a family of big skiers, a winter wedding in Vermont just made sense for Marie & Will (each table at the reception was named after a mountain they’ve skied on!).
These two lovebirds are so kind and sweet and I teared up during their first look. Immediately following family formals they headed to Au Comptoir – their favorite cozy local bar in Woodstock – for some time to decompress & an extra sweet private vow reading. As introverts, this moment to themselves for their vows was exactly what they needed as they knew they’d be nervous during the ceremony. Also, who doesn’t want to be sipping gorgeous ginger margaritas at their favorite bar while exchanging vows? I really loved this moment for them.
There were personal touches throughout the day that were really special. Marie & Will fired the family cannon post ceremony with everyone out in front of the inn which was such a fun family tradition of theirs. They also paid tribute to Marie’s late mother. Instead of a moment of silence, the band played Billy Joel’s Piano Man and everyone belted it out. You could really feel the love in every moment!
